Agia Marina
is the most  tourist place on the whole island with the biggest Sandy Organized beach only 14,5 km away from Aegina, about half an hour by bus.If you want to go by bicycle, don´t forget the road is very steep, sometimes.

Agia Marina can be reached from Pireus with SEA FALCON HYDROFOILE in 30' minutes, or by ELVIRA speed boat in 55' minutes.

4 kilometers away from Agia Marina is  Afea temple from where you can walk down to the village very easy- the way leads down the mountain all the time. Either you take the main road or the way next to the little souvenir shop, opposite to the temple.

In former times Agia Marina was a area of agriculture only. Starting from Messagros, the country was full of vineyards, olivegroves and stone-pine-woods.  But slowly, to advance and develop the tourism for all people of the island, a lot of Hotels and appartments and private houses has been built.

A small chapell for the holy Marina gave the village it´s name. The beauty of the nature, the wonderful woods and the coast, save of the northwinds and ideal to take a swim are really the best reasons for a successful development of tourism.Right to the small harbour there is a wide sandy beach, inviting kids and everybody who prefers flat water.Lefthand to the harbour you will find the cliffs, an ideal place to dive and snorcel, On this rocky coast(leading up to Tourlos)there are still very lonely places, where you can enjoy the seaside-even in the most busy seasons! You will reach the coast over beautful ways trough the woods or walking along the "limit of wood-burn" The life in Aghia Marina is concentrated arround the main road and the smaller streets, leading to the beach. A lot of restaurants and all kinds of shops are waiting for your visit! The left turn at the end of the mainroad along the coast-side will take you to Portes, the last village on the eastside of the island. You can enjoy fresh fish, the crystal waters and the stony beach, there. Turning right (at the end of the mainroad) you come to Alones, where a number of traditionel greek restaurants invite the people to come in-most famous are "Kostas" and "Takis". Walking to Alones, for your way back you can take one of the horse-coaches, waiting in front of the tavernes. Following the road after Alones, near to Messagros you can catch the mainroad Aegina-Messagros-Aghia Marina. Aghia Marina has a lot of cafes, disco-bars, shops of arts and crafts articles and national work of art.During the peak season even the night is turned to life in this centre of tourism.

On weekends the harbour is full up with little ships and boats, most belonging to Athenians, coming here to swim .On the beach you will find all kind of comfort-playing tennis you can find an excellent lawn-court in Alone.
